Creative and Fun Christmas Present

“It was the most fun party I have been to in a long time.” Nancy shared her hilarious experience at a baby shower this past weekend where the guests were in stitches from what she described as, “A very unique, innovative and clever product.” It is called the WeeMinder Potty Training Kit and it consists of a cute red electronic watch-like device that the toddler wears that sings a catchy song to remind them to go potty. It is accompanied by an adorable storybook and DVD. The hostess played the DVD on the TV and everyone was engaged and intrigued singing the “Hop to the Potty Place” song. Some of the funniest lyrics are:

“Put a big smile on your face and hop, hop, hop to the Potty Place. When you get there try to wee or woo, sit there and
wait to go pee or poo. Won’t it be great you’re doing it mate, you’re a big Potty Animal now!”

The musical potty watch has three time settings: 1 hour, 2 hours, or 2.5 hrs. It can be turned ON and OFF and is fun to play with for all ages. Everyone was singing, “Hey kids you know what time it is? It’s Potty Time!” At the end, there are kids’ giggling, which is so contagious it became the life of the party that will not be forgotten.

I can see this party gift not only being perfect for Christmas, baby showers, and toddler birthday parties, but at Retirement parties, 40th or 50th birthday parties or even graduation parties and any age birthday party where the birthday girl or boy likes a good laugh.

The name WeeMinder itself puts a little smirk on everyone’s face and invites those with creative minds to add to the play on words, which as you know tends to bring snorts of laughter, belly busting gut aches and tears of joy-the perfect combination for a fun-filled party.

I know the WeeMinder Potty Training Kit is a great aid in potty training as well, but there is just something about potty talk that humors us human beings at any age. I know in many families like mine the loudest toy or ugliest doll find has been the best way we knew how to show the crazy loved one how much we care, but this clever and innovative gadget will top them all. I think I have outdone myself this year in finding the most creative and fun Christmas present of all. Feel free to copy my idea and bring laughter to your upcoming celebrations. Just be sure to wee-member the tissue!!!!!

What's the best potty training aid?

What’s the Best Potty Training Aid?

Need help getting your child potty trained? You are not alone! The frustration you are feeling is not unusual. Who likes to clean up urine and feces? I mean that is what we are talking about. right? I know that for a potty trained adult it is natural to get frustrated and it is hard to understand why it is so hard to just go potty in the TOILET!!!! But all of the experts say, “Don’t show your frustration to the potty trainer!” AAAHHH!!!! Well, what you need is a little help. A potty training aid is all it takes to turn things around for you and your little potty trainer.

There are many choices when shopping for a potty training aid. Several potty training books and DVDS are fun for the whole family and there are even electronic devices now that aid in reminding the child to try and go potty in a fun way. Personally, I suggest a book, DVD and device that works together and has a theme that helps your child become invested in the process.

Well you have come to the right place because the only potty training system out there is the WeeMinder Potty Training Kit. It has a book, DVD, and WeeMinder Watch that work together ingeniously.

1. The book is entitled, “Wally’s WeeMinder Potty Training Adventure”, which showcases Wally the Wallaby who is reminded by his WeeMinder to go to the Potty Place.
2. The WeeMinder DVD is the book coming to life and a music video that teaches the catchy, “Hop to the Potty Place” song.
3. The WeeMinder Watch sings, “Put a big smile on your face and hop, hop, hop to the Potty Place” every hour, two or 2.5 hours.

It is under $20.00 and this potty training aid will hand over the control and pride of potty training to your child. It makes potty training fun and easy. .

So stop beating yourself up for getting upset from the accidents and give yourself a break by using the help of a potty training aid.

"My son loves Wally and his WeeMinder Potty Watch!"

Below is an email from a happy customer who agreed to let us share her email with you.

"My son loves Wally the Wallaby and his WeeMinder Potty Watch!" When I say love, I mean, love!!! It is the first thing he talks about when he wakes up and the last thing when he goes to bed. He watched the DVD at least five times a day and looks through the book even more. All through the day he talks to his imaginary Wally for play time and all of his drawings involve some part of Wally and the WeeMinder gang.

Should I worry that he is overly obsessed? He has been potty trained for months now, but still continues this behavior. We were wondering if you had thought about a sequel to the DVD and book because we are getting a little tired of singing the song and hearing the story over and over! No offense!!!

We are thankful for the WeeMinder and wanted to share are funny story with you."

Sincerely,

Sally & Family
Santa Cruz, Cali.

Thanks Sally & Family! You are not alone! We have heard similar stories from other families and although we do not have a sequel to the Potty Adventure, we do have another children's product that showcases another member of the WeeMinder Gang and it does have Wally the Wallaby in it. We will keep you posted!

Thanks so much for sharing your funny story about your son's addiction to the WeeMinder Potty Watch and story! Don't worry, I don't think you should be concerned. He will outgrow it EVENTUALLY!!!:)))

Potty Training & Inventing?

Before our daughter, Sydney, was potty trained, we tried everything from wearing pull-ups to only underwear, to bribing, disciplining, and we often lost our temper. We were so frustrated and felt like we would be fighting dirty diapers, urine stained laundry, bedding, and embarrassing accidents for the rest of our lives. She wet on our couch, on the carpet, and in her car seat several times. I felt like a failure as a parent and finally hit the Internet to seek help because I was too embarrassed to tell anyone how bad our potty training problem was.

I was shocked at how much information there was on the subject-over a million websites!

Many said the same things like:

• never lose your temper or show your frustration.
• try and make it fun
• try and give your child control
• monitor when they are wetting
• set a schedule to use the bathroom every 2-3 hours

Much of the advice was helpful, but I wished there was a product that could...

help to make it fun, give the child control, and help remind us to practice going to the bathroom every 2-3 hours. You know, like a watch the child wears that plays a song every 2 hours to remind them to go potty.

When I told my friends about my idea, they thought it was brilliant and encouraged my husband and I to invent it and bring it to market. My husband and I had never done anything like that before being a teacher and Inside-Salesman.

So, back to the Internet we went to research how to bring a product idea to market. Writing the fun potty training book, and producing the Hop to the Potty Place song was fairly easy, but the actual watch device would be $40,000 dollars just to engineer the chip to play ten seconds of the song every hour, two and/or three hours.

Before committing so much time and money to a project, we wanted to test the idea. So, we bought an $80.00 dollar hand-held digital recorder and put the song on it. We tried it, we had friends, family, neighbors, and friends of friends try it out on their potty trainers. Along with the digital recorder, we gave them a copy of the book, the DVD of the story and music video and a Potty Chart.

The results were very encouraging. We have testimonials from parents saying they tried the doll and that didn’t work, they tried everything, but this was the only thing that worked…. Within two weeks or two days…my child was potty trained… We had pediatricians, child psychologists, and medical professionals test our product and each one wished they had one for their children and endorsed it.

Now we sell our product on our website, Amazon, through a national distributor and in a few Walmarts in the US. We have learned a lot and have more product ideas we are bringing to market. It was hard-work, but we learned a lot and it was so worth it!

Oh and by the way, I can guarantee you will not be suffering through potty training forever! It is never hopeless. Remember, “Put a big smile on your face, and hop, hop, hop to the Potty Place!”

New Potty Training Breakthroughs!

According to some recent studies in Potty Training, the best way to experience potty training success is to stick to a set schedule. Dr. Brasch, Dr. Thompson and others hail the WeeMinder as the best potty training tool out there to keep everyone on schedule, while making the whole process fun.

#1. Make potty training fun!
#2. Visit the potty every 2-3 hours.
#3. Praise the potty trainer.
#4. Give the potty trainer control.

These of four important things to consider when potty training. The WeeMinder is the best and easiest way to ensure potty training success.

Potty Training Power Struggle

Can anyone out there relate to this potty training power struggle?

My daugher Sydney hides her wet underwear under her bed, in her closet, and in her drawers or even backpacks or purses instead of putting them in the wash.  She just lays in her pee-soaked bed until morning and can go all day wearing wet underwear.

Yes, you are not alone.  This is one of the reasons we went to so much work to create the WeeMinder.  We made mistakes and maybe you have to.  We punished and scolded and clearly showed our frustration with the wetting accidents!

All of that must stop for you to see any improvement.  The WeeMinder will help give the child control and make it fun.  It will turns things around and the power struggle will definitely be turned around significantly!

Don't beat yourself up for getting frustrated.  That is normal!  Now you know better and plan ahead what you are going to do when they have a potty accident to make sure you don't blow it again!

Breath and let the WeeMinder do the rest!

It can really help eliminate the Potty Training Power Struggle very soon!

Problems Poop Training?

Poop Training? I have to admit that I was shocked when I discovered that many parents were handing their potty trainers a pull-up to poop in because the child refused to poop train in the toilet. Being in the potty training business, I get many frustrated parents asking for help with all different aspects of potty training. Lately the most popular inquiry is, "Can you come over and potty train them for me?" I understand your frustration, but there is hope and soon you will be able to look back and laugh about this and maybe even help someone else with potty training their toddler down the road.

The second most popular inquiry lately revolves around the stinky subject of poop training. Why are children having such a problem lately with poop training? Well, it could be diet, environment, stress, or lack of exercise, but whatever it is many struggling families are suffering because of it.

Some parents share that their toddler is just refusing to go poop in the toilet. A few shared that their child complained that pooping in the potty was painful. I can relate to having painful bowel movements and for a newbie poop trainer they might relate the pain to the toilet. Other parents do not believe that the poop trainer is experiencing any pain, but simply are refusing to go poop in the toilet. In most of these cases, the child is successfully peeing in the toilet!

So, what do I suggest? Well, the most obvious would be to get some more fruit in the diet. Once you have softened them up, then you need to hand over the poop training to the potty trainer! That's right...scoop the poop over to the one who needs poop training!
I had to get that in there somehow! But seriously (and I know how serious of a problem this is for many of you) I think your child may be using the poop problem in a passive aggressive and possibly unconscious way to demonstrate a form of control in their life.

There are many reasons why they may be doing this, but the upside is there may be a positive way to get around it. Let's give them the control they want and allow them to take over. How?

• I suggest finding a fun way to make poop training their choice and control.
• Give your potty trainer a weeminder watch that sings to remind them in the most fun way to try and go potty poop on the potty.
• I suggest this be set right before a fruit filled breakfast because medical experts have found that most bowel movements occur about 30 minutes after they have finished breakfast.
• Then, have them read a fun potty book on the toilet while they wait for the bm to come.
• I also suggest purchasing a fun potty DVD that will get them excited about potty training completely.

Don't give up and do everything possible to NEVER get upset or frustrated when they don't poop in the toilet. Continue to praise them and encourage them to poop train in the toilet. Now put a big smile on your face, and remember the toilet is the Potty Place!

Need Help Inventing

“You invented that?”  People would ask me wide-eyed in amazement.  Why was it so hard for them to believe that I could invent something?  Do I look like a complete bozo? I am a normal looking professional-teacher and mother of five.  What is an inventor supposed to look like? Maybe they had a hard time believing I was a real-life inventor because I am a woman or a blond, but that is a whole other subject.  Their next question was always, “Where did you get help inventing?” Well, keep reading and I will tell you.

Now, how many of you have ever watched a commercial or searched the store aisles and discovered a new product that was YOUR idea?  I don’t know many people who haven’t had this frustrating feeling!

Well, if we really think about it, they didn’t steal our ideas, they just put the work and money into bringing our idea to market. Right? Well, I had experienced that feeling over and over again and I was tired of it.  I heard about the art teacher who invented Baby Einsteins and wondered how I could be successful like that.

I had an idea, but that is about all I had.  I needed help inventing.  I mean really inventing.  Just having an idea doesn’t qualify you as an inventor.  You need to do something with it before someone will respect you as an inventor.

I have a list below of how to start turning your ideas into actual inventions:

• create a CAD drawing or model of your product idea

• submit your idea to a reputable invention evaluation team

¶ join an Inventor’s group, visit local Business Development Center

• read every book and article on the subject

• conduct a market test

• if the market test bodes well, start preparations to protect your idea with copyrights, trademarks and patents (www.uspto.gov)

• write goals and raise money

• create a prototype at a local factory

• conduct another market test

• write your business plan

• license or market your product (which is a complete venture in itself!)

This is a very simplified list of how to take your product idea and begin making it a reality.  It is hard work, takes more time and money than you would ever think, and the success rate is against you.  The only reason I succeeded is because I never gave up and kept seeking help inventing.  Please ask for help and I would be happy to help!

Messy Accidents After Potty Training!

Below is a letter we received via email that we were given permission to share with everyone.

Dear WeeMinder:

We don't know what happened.  We had amazing success with Wally and the WeeMinder.  We had tried other potty tools that Jacob was not interested in and did not work.  When we got the WeeMinder, Jacob instantly took to the weeminder watch and Wally.  He watched the DVD over and over and he felt so "big" to have his own watch and book and DVD.  Things turned around almost instantly.  He stopped fighting us and took charge of his own potty training almost like he was teaching us.  We had finally found success in potty training, which was good because we were nearing his 5th birthday!

Well, I don't know what happened, but he began to have accidents during the day again almost a year after our success with the WeeMinder.  First, one a day and then two or three times a day. I was shocked.  Now we are back to the old bathroom battle!  Help!

Sincerely,

Sheyenne Jaxson
___________________________________________________________________
Dear Sheyenne:

Take heart.  This is not a problem!  This happens to nearly all potty trainers, usually during a time of change or stress that occurs in their life.  Have you been extra busy lately?  Did you change anything significant in the schedule?

Many potty trainers have a relapse and how you handle it is crucial, especially if the child already had a previous negative experience with potty training.  Below is a list of the best way to handle these sudden and out of the ordinary accidents when they begin occuring.

1.  STAY COOL! Don't overreact or make a big deal about it.
2.  NOTICE why.  Be aware of the possibility of a change in routine as the cause.
3.  NONCHALANTLY, begin using the WeeMinder again, but not as a punishment!!
4.  PLAY the movie a few times, bring the book out again, and keep the WeeMinder where everyone can hear it again.
5. CATCH the potty trainer succeeding without overdoing it.

It usually just takes the family getting back into the routine of the WeeMinder and they are back on track! The key is staying calm and giving positive attention instead of negative.

We wanted to share this email because this is real life!  Real people like you have life LIFE them once in awhile and very often our children subconsciously pick up on it and many times it results in a potty accident.  How we react to this is so important.  The ease and fun of the WeeMinder can save us from unnecessary accidents, frustration, and possibly from serious control problems down the road.

If you are in need of another WeeMinder Musical Reminder, please email us at wally@weeminder.com and we may be able to sell you a replacement for $9.95 depending upon availability.

If you have any questions or concerns, we are more than happy to help.  Please email us at wally@weeminder.com.

Hopefully, this is helpful for all parents to keep in mind if they ever come across messy accidents after potty training.

Top Ten Reasons The WeeMinder Really Works!

1. It not only potty trains, but the children fall in love with Wally the Wallaby and their WeeMinder Potty Training Watch!"

2.  The award-winning potty training song is super catchy and fun!  Everyone in the family will be singing "Hop, hop, hop to the Potty Place!"

3.  The WeeMinder Musical Reminder is super easy to use.  You don't have to program a thing. You just choose 1, 2 or 2.5 hour mode and turn it ON!

4.  The WeeMinder Potty Training Kit is of the highest quality and safety.  The watch is so durable we even ran over it with a car!

5.  It makes you smile and enjoy potty training.  "Put a big smile on your face and hop, hop, hop to the Potty Place"!  The whole thing takes the pressure and frustration out of potty training.

6.  It is the only potty training product that tackles the real problem of potty training. Nearly every potty trainer has a relapse especially when the parent becomes busy or distracted for some reason or another.  Without the WeeMinder the parent yells and gets angry after accidents and unfortunately many times a big problem arises.  However, with the WeeMinder the parent takes a deep breath, gets the WeeMinder back out, and "whallah" we are back in potty training success mode!

7.  The price is incredible.  If you were to buy a potty training book, DVD and timer, that would cost you over $30.00 and they would all be unrelated products.  There is something to the complete system that really builds the success and excitement!

8.  You will not find more free stuff and helpful information about potty training on any other website, www.weeminder.com "Tips and Free Stuff".

9.  We want you to be successful and the Customer Service will do what it takes to help you!

10.  The WeeMinder has the best time settings for your child.  Other timers have 30, 60, and 90 minute settings.  We found that most medical experts suggested 2-3 hour reminders, but the highest our competitors modes go is 90 minutes.   We also found that by the time the child hopped, undressed, sat/read, waited, redressed, flushed, washed, and celebrated 30 minutes had almost gone by already making the 30 minute mode unreasonable! (We don't mean to mock our competitors, we just want people to know what we found out during our research and development.)

Creative Bedwetting Cure

Below is an article written to a parenting site on the subject of potty training. Since they hailed the WeeMinder for attributing to the success of curing their son's bedwetting, we attained permission to use it on our BLOG.  Thanks!

Creative Bedwetting Cure for Potty Training Boys

How many times can you wash urine soaked sheets, underwear and jammies before you start looking for a better way? My son struggled with bedwetting for years and then my friend told me about a creative bedwetting cure for potty training boys called the WeeMinder Musical Reminder.  She purchased one to potty train her son and one to keep with her in her bedroom.  The potty training system is geared towards younger children, but they just used the WeeMinder’s watch-like musical alarm and it worked.  You can set it to play every hour, two hours or 2.5.

To potty train our boy, we set it for every hour at first during the weekend so it wouldn’t bother with school to see when he was wetting. Then, we lengthened the time and soon he could wake up himself.  He just needed some extra help.

I have to admit, I didn't try as hard as I could to train him earlier because I was just too exhausted to get myself up to help wake him throughout the night.  Better late than never.  This potty training tool for boys is only $20 compared to hundreds of dollars for the older version alarms out there.

I have gotten really creative with it and use it to remind my kids about all sorts of things.  The time just seems to get by me sometimes and the WeeMinder is so easy (no programming!) and whenever it goes off, it makes me stop and think and…. remember. “Oh ya, get ready to go to the store, we leave in twenty minutes.

The WeeMinder Potty Training website, www.weeminder.com suggests using the WeeMinder to remind your child to not only go potty, but use it to remind them to:

o Drink water during the day

o Eat

o Nap

o Wash hands

o Finish chore

o Read

o Exercise, etc.

Just a suggestion that worked for me.  I can never figure out how to program a Timex or alarm clock, so this creative bedwetting cure for potty training boys may work for you like nothing else has. It did for me and my family!

Bedwetting

“Most Potty Training books just speak on the process of Potty Training, which wasn’t really our problem.  This book helped teach my son how to choose to go potty instead of play and wet himself.  The wee-minder device helped remind him to stop playing and go potty. Wally from the storybook and DVD encouraged him to make the right, but difficult choice to go to the potty, then play! We love the song and even though it has been awhile since we potty trained our son, we still remember and love the song.”

      Disa & JohnJennings

"The wee-MINDER saved my life because I have four children, a set of twins, and one on medication. The wee-MINDER gave me the peace of mind nothing else could.  My daughter has a spastic bladder and is seeing a Urologist.  She has therapy twice a week and her “homework” is to try and go potty every two hours.  The wee-Minder has helped tremendously during this difficult time and most importantly made it a fun and positive experience.”

      Beckie Sommerville

“My 3 -year old daughter, Sasha, loves The wee-Minder!  Not only does it remind her to “Hop, hop, hop to the Potty Place”, but it reminds us.  It’s been a wonderful tool to use when she’s at her grandparent’s house too.  Potty training has been made easy by this trio-  the book, DVD, and wee-Minder keeps Sasha interested in using the potty!”

            Jennifer Damschen

“My kids are well past potty training years (thank goodness, urgh), but my sister-in-law and close friend’s kids are nearing the dreaded potty training years and when I saw the wee-minder, I immediately bought two for them. Amazing idea. I wish it was around five years ago!”

            Lori Sherfey

“I am a grandmother of 21 grandkids (so far), and when I saw the wee-minder, I was so excited!  I bought seven, so that I would have some to not only use for my grandkids, but to give as baby shower gifts because I like to have a clever and unique gift!”

             Debbie Dickerson

“Thanks so much for such a cute item! My daughter loved it, and really enjoyed hopping to the potty place. She is having a hard time going potty at school during all of the fun activities, and I thought that the wee-minder would help. It did. Everyone that has seen it has commented on how cute it is. Thanks, again!”                          Suzy Sivley (Purchased on e-BAY)

“My daughter loves the song and so does my almost 2 year old.  He sings it all the time, too.”

             Kristy Huber  (e-BAY)

"We tried everything and nothing worked.  Our daughter didn’t even want to try sitting on the potty.  With the Wee-minder, she was in control and would remind us she had to go sit on the potty.   In just over two weeks we were completely done with potty training."

            Ron Lahr   (used initial prototype)

"It's interactive, innovation, fun and child driven. I wish I had one when we were potty training our children. It is clear that this could greatly reduce the time it takes to potty train."

            Dr. James Brasch

"Before the Wee-minder, we tried everything. Nothing worked. With the Wee-minder Josie hop, hopped to the Potty Place on her own."

            Amy Whitsett

“The wee-Minder Potty Training System is an innovative system that is not only kid-friendly, but hands over control to the toddlers alleviating the battle most parents face during the potty training years.  From a medical standpoint, the wee-Minder helps build muscle memory which is another key element in potty training.”

             Matt Thompson MD

“The wee-MINDER Potty Training System is superior in appearance, function, and durability!” -The WIN Inventors Services Program, PIES-XII Innovation Evaluation Report.

How do I know when my potty trainer is ready to begin potty training?

WHEN CAN I START POTTY TRAINING?

  • National Pediatrics Association recommends the child be two years of age before starting potty training.
  • Every expert recommends the importance of regular intervals for potty training success, which is why the wee-MinderTM system is so successful.
  • Visit www.weeminder.com for more advice on readiness.
  • This remarkable potty training system offers to parents the vital tools necessary for children to begin to master the physical skill of potty training.
  •  This skill is mastered from lots of practice. As with all skills, children will make mistakes in the beginning, but improve with practice.

START EARLY

  • I recommend introducing the wee-MinderTM video and book early (15-18 months).
  • I also think children should be introduced to the Potty Place early and if at all possible have their diaper changed in the bathroom.
  • Talk about the potty process and begin using voice cues early on.  This means, pick words you will use to always describe peeing and pooping.  For example, pee-pee and poo-poo.
  •  If your child goes to daycare, ask them what word clues they use and it will help your child’s potty training success if you use the same voice cues.
  • When you start to see signs that your child is ready, make sure everything is going for you.
  •  I recommend you purchase a cushioned potty seat, a step stool for climbing onto the toilet and reaching the sink for washing, the wee-MinderTM DVD, book and device and you’ll need a lot of juice.

POTTY ANIMAL TRACKING CHART

  • Become a patient observer of your child and notice their biological process (if they have regular bowel movements each day, etc.).
  • Potty training them to poop is most likely the first and easiest step because they can feel when it is coming and they have time to get to the Potty Place.
  • Try to program the wee-MinderTM when you think they normally go during the day in their diaper. A print chart is available on line.
  • When tackling pee-pee training, I recommend getting rid of the diapers and using big kid undies, so they can begin to feel when they are wet or wetting.

Funny Potty Training Stories

Our family was enjoying a hot summer day at a nearby public pool when my newly potty trained son whispered in my ear that he had to go potty for the hundredth time. Uncomfortable to be seen in my bathing suit out of the water, I quietly and nonchalantly told him to just go in the pool. The chlorine was nearly burning a hole in my suit and eyes-I didn’t think it would do much damage since I knew he would only pee about a few tablespoons anyway. But to my horror I turned around to find my son standing at the edge of the pool with his swimming trunks pulled down around his ankles peeing into the pool like a Greek fountain in front of the world. In a panic I abruptly yelled to him to stop and he pouted back to me, “But you told me to just go in the pool, Mommy!” Dare I say I was horrified!

Michelle Areta
October 2006

After a very long day running errands, tired and eager to get home, my newly potty trained daughter started whining from her car seat that she needed to go potty. Exhausted and close to home, I urged her to try and hold it mustering up all the patience I had left. I actually was surprised that she seized complaining until I got her out of the car and she held out her urine filled hands that were cupped together like she was taking a drink of water from a pond singing, “ I hold it, mommy, I hold it!”

Thanks for the wee-Minder! We love it and sing the “Hop, hop, hop to the Potty Place” song everywhere we go. I wanted to share a funny story with you about your product. This last week my son, Josiah, was helping me teach our 7-week-old kittens to go potty in the litter box. To my surprise Josiah started singing the “Hop to the Potty Place” song hopping one of the kittens like Wally to their new Potty Place (litter box). My husband and I were in stitches. Too much fun!

WeeMinder Potty Training Testimonials

"Most Potty Training books just speak on the process of Potty Training, which wasn't really our problem.  This book helped teach my son how to choose to go potty instead of play and wet himself.  The weeMinder device helpd him to stop playing and go potty.  Wally from the storybook and DVD encouraged him to make the right, but difficult choice to go to the potty, then play! We love the song and even though it has been awhile since we potty trained our son, we still remember and love the song."

"The WeeMinder saved my life because I have four children, a set of twins, and one on medication.  The WeeMinder gave me the peace of mind mothing else could.  My daughter has a spastic bladder and is seeing a Urologist.  She has therapy twice a week and her "homework" is to try and go potty every two hours.  The WeeMinder has helped tremendously during this difficult time and most importantly made it a fun and positive experience. "

Beckie Sommerville, mother of four

"My 3 year old daughter, Sasha, loves The WeeMinder!  Not only does it remind her to "Hop, hop to the Potty Place" but is remind us.  It's been a wonderful tool to use when she's at her grandparent's house too.  Potty training has been made easy by this trio-the bookm DVD, and weeMinder potty training kit keeps Sasha interested in using the potty!"

FAQ continued...

4.  Is it hard to program the Weeminder Potty Training Musical Reminder? -Not at all because you DO NOT have to program the WeeMinder Potty Training Reminder!  You just push the switch to the 1, 2, or 2.5 hour setting and then push the On/Off switch on the other side.  If you want to change the potty setting again, just push it to your desired time and then the On/Off switch again.

You will know the potty training reminder is set because it will sing, "Put a big smile on your face and hop, hop, hop to the Potty Place" and then a recording of kid's laughing!  Fun and EASY!!!!

5.  Will the WeeMinder Potty Training Kit hold up to my child's rough play? He has broken many toy watches in the past? -Yes!  Safety and durability of the potty training reminder were key issues for us.  We put the WeeMinder potty reminder through several safety tests as well as durability tests.  In fact, we conducted the drop test, and ran it over with a midsized car.  We do not recommend you try this at home, but I think you get our point.  Quality and safe products are a big part of our business philosophy. We chose safety first and made sure there were no small parts, which is why the batteries are non-replaceable like all safe toys for young children these days.

6.  How does this Potty Training aid compare with others out there? Well, we started developing the WeeeMinder Potty Training Kit over five years ago.  It has taken us this long to bring it to the potty training market because we refused to give up on quality and safety.  Back then, there was nothing else like it in the potty training world, but now there are just a couple similar ideas, however, none with a complete system, musical potty training reminder device, book and dvd.

From what we have heard and found... the other potty aids competition may have put together their items too quickly and one even has an out of tune alarm (just beeps) that is not very fun and it is hard to program and super easy to break.  The other two that we know about are at least twice the amoung we charge and neither of them come with a complete set (book, DVD, and reminder) that is FUN for the child.

WeeMinder FAQ Section

1. How long does the WeeMinder Potty Training battery last? -The life expectancy of the battery depends mainly on how much you use it.  If you keep the wee-Minder turned on 24.7, it should last approximately one month.  If you turn it off the potty training reminder when you are not using it, it has been known to last up to six months.

2.  Why is your shortest time setting 1 hour for the potty training reminder? Shouldn't it be shorter for the first days of potty training? -We put a lot of time, research and thought into these time schedules.  Our weeminder potty training prototypes varied from the shortest time being 30 and 45 minutes.  We found that by the time we hop, hop, hopped to the Potty Place, took off needed clothing, sat on the potty chair, read the book and such, pulled up our clothing, flushed and washed up our paws, celebrated and drank more fluids, the WeeMinder potty training musical reminder played again! When you are first potty training, we agree they should go more often than normal to gain muscle memory, but they need time to sit there, talk about it, and drink lots of liquids (stop after dinner time to help with nighttime dryness)! We found that an one hour setting was the perfect amount of time to accomplish potty training success.

3.  What if my toddler won't wear the weeminder potty training reminder? -Don't push it! Keep it positive and continually encourage the entire time during potty training.  Give them a choice to wear it on their wrist or pant loop.  Or let an older sibling wear it and talk about how great it is.  Put it on a stuffed animal they carry around or a bag.

The parent or sibling can wear it on a pantloop or bag and talk about how great and cool it is for potty training.  The key is to give them choices and encourage it.  Our kids fought over who could wear it during and after potty training.  If you make it fun and do not get frustrated or force them, they will most likely never want to take it off!

What will you do when you make a profit?  I love that question!  We know exactly what we will do.  We will thank God and pray for guidance in regards to how to use that money to honor and glorify our Savior.  Even today we are eager to find ways to be extraordinarily generous and we see ourselves being able to really sow into the Kingdom!  We also have two other WeeMinder products we would like to bring to market (non-potty training) that bring peace and order into the family.  Of course, there is an endless list of secondary products as well.

We also have a huge desire to help other families bring their product ideas to the market.  We have had so many people help us, we CAN hardly wait to do the same!

How did you begin to get the WeeMinder Potty Training Kit developed?  Wow!  That is a good question.  We actually had a hard time finding someone who could engineer the potty training timer and potty song for under $40,000 (just to engineer the chip).  I was shocked. I thought, "Hey, it's the year 2000, how hard can it be!" Right!

Well, we were able to work with a local illustrator, who was a friend from church, great guy, Jesse Pierpoint, and our cheerleader's Joel and Debbie Hendrickson (Weldon) helped us produce the potty song and WeeMinder DVD.  Then, we were pretty much at a standstill until a friend of Debbie's mother in California, who had an inventing brother, agreed to help us.  Since we could not pay anyone much other than supplies to do all of this, it took literally years to get the WeMinder Potty Training Kit (our first product) to market! We are still having to move much slower than desired because of the common business problem-lack of cash flow.  Lord, help us!

As for the business plan and license, I learned on my own via Internet and books from the library.  I have not paid a cent to an attorney and have been lucky enough to get free legal advice so far.

Our local business development center has been helpful and friends and family have helped us along the way.  Even though we have done it slow, it has been EXPENSIVE.  We have made mistakes and we would do things differently next time.  But all in all we have learned a lot and are glad we took this leap of faith to bring our WeeMinder Potty Training Kit to market and we pray and believe that we see profit soon!

My son is potty training and he keeps wetting himself and sits in the wetness or hides it from us.  Do you have any suggestions? Thank you for asking.  This is a common problem during potty training.  Many parents think that after they achieve potty training success their job is over.  However, research states that nearly all potty trainers have set backs and wet themselves (some more than others) almost for an average length of an entire year after the initial potty training.  I can really sympathize with you.  Take heart because the WeeMinder Potty Training Kit was designed with your potty problem in mind.  My bonus-daughter was notorious for wetting herself while playing or watching TV.  I would get so mad at myself because I thought I should have remembered to have her go to the potty.  Her dad thought she was being lazy and would scold her and then she started to hide her wet underwear and things seemed to get worse and worse.  We needed help with potty training and fast!  We needed something that would bring the peace back into the family and something that would make my stepdaughter feel in control of her potty training.  So, that is really how the idea of the WeeMinder Potty Training Kit started.  I thought outloud to my friend one day, "Wouldn't it be great if there was an alarm with a song that you could set to remind your potty trainer to go potty?" My friend thought it was a brilliant idea and encouraged me to make it happen.  Then came the potty training book and DVD and here we are today! I have used it successfully and thousands of others are thankful for the WeeMinder Potty Training Kit!  Those of you still struggling to potty train...Take heart and get a WeeMinder Potty Training Kit at www.weeminder.com or www.potty-training.kids.com.
